Avalanche Snow Again!!!!

Was out in Kakwa on the weekend and we dug a snow pit up in Ruth to check snow conditions, as you can see in the pics that at a 1.5' below the fresh snow is a whore frost layer about an 1" thick, did the fracture test and failed immediately, but the scary part also is below that another 2' to 3' is another layer of whore frost that is about 1/2" thick. Neither of these layers are bonded and the top layer of frost is almost identical to want we saw last yr at the avy coarse in Feb.

Just Letting You SledHeads Know That It Is Not A Good Snow Pack Yr Again In Kakwa....
