Av Gas in Revelstoke?

Hey was hoping someone could steer me in the right direction about getting avgas in Revelstoke. From what I have found the airport as well as one other place in town sells avgas by credit card. A couple questions I have are, is there a card lock type of pump, or will I have to make it to one of these places before a certain time each day? As well as if someone happens to know the current price of avgas versus premium within December? And if someone happens to know more than these two places, by all means list them, more options the better.

Powerhouse customs could prob steer you in right direction.
Might want to get some cans or a tank that way you only have to go every couple days for fuel - a lot less hassle

I actually did call and talk with the one guy, assuming he looks after the place, and he led me in the right direction. Sounds like he gets it quite often. Hopefully grab the code from him that way I don’t have to be a bother over the Christmas holidays.

I actually did look at 100LL and just didn’t know how accurate it was, but 1.60ish a litre according to the website isn’t bad at all, especially since premium is somewhere around 1.50 a litre

We built a slip tank for the enclosed and was wondering about buying some and mixing it off with premium if there'd be a noticeable difference

I am running it in a turbo 800 etec, this will be my first trip since installing the turbo. I had always ran plain old premium before, I can’t see there being any true gains to justify avgas in a non turbo setup. But that is just my 2 cents

A Stock motor will actually perform worse on avgas as opposed to premium. Unless you have higher compression save yourself the hassle.

The USA EPA mandated unleaded fuel back in the 80’s for emissions....

Not sure if this is sarcasm or not. 100LL still contains TEL, as do many other grades of AV fuel.

100LL = One Hundred Low Lead

AV gas or 100LL is designed for slow burning piston engines in old planes. its popular because its a regulated fuel so its very consistent. the Lead is added as a lubricant and drops out like crazy in exhaust components like turbos and headers... its liquid in the combustion chamber but solidifies when cooled. we use 100LL lots in race boats and my LSX 454 drinks it 26 GPH. IMO race fuel is much better but pricey and harder to source.

I was totally bullchiting and laughing about it. Low lead is very clearly indicated and I figured it went without saying.

100LL = One Hundred Low Lead
