I am looking to take a trip to Atlas or York around the 26th or 27th of Dec. I need to break in my motor & a couple belts- does anyone know what the snow and trail conditions are like?

Atlas staging has about a foot or another more at the parking, plenty of snow for trail riding but slim off trail until you get up higher.

Rode window and to the cabin. Definitely lacking snow, but great kids ride. Dirt showing and parts of the trail past window mountain. Trails are decent to window mount area though. Past the cabin nil.

Went to Atlas for the first time this year, definitely needs more snow but ok for a trail ride. Wasn’t too bad on the trails in the trees but open areas are wind blown bare and numerous creeks are still open. I would imagine York is the same.

Did a bit of trail riding in the 30th from Alexander over Deadman pass to the Atlas trails and conditions were surprisingly good. Got dirt in the normal exposed windswept spots.

Out Cross country skiing at Chinook Lake today and 10in of fresh, trails should be in reasonable shape for the weekend!

Has anyone rode atlas in the last week? Just wondering what conditions are like. Do they groom there and if so where do you pay for a trail pass? Thanks for any information

We were there on the weekend. Staging area is a bit skimpy for snow but trails not too bad. Could definitely use some snow. They do groom occasionally. I believe you can buy trail passes at the Esso or Husky in Coleman, BCMI in Coleman and Kanata in Blairmore. Make sure you have your sled registration, license plate and insurance with you. Conservation Officers were out checking on Sunday on the trails.

Rode there today was not really impressed with the area, not much snow unless you’re into trail riding, hope to find better ground tomorrow

It’s only suppose to be plus 3 here on Saturday so it should be good, and the way the snow has been coming down the last 2 days the trails should be great.

It was shaping up not too bad here but had some rain a couple days ago in town, not sure what happened in the bush. We don’t usually get going here for another month anyway so probably best to be patient for a while. Hopefully can get out first week of Dec to have look.
