Hi guys, resently met some guys which have a dream to travel around the world on sleds. They aren't just dreaming they are tough guys who already done most of their dream driving through the russian arctic. They actually spent 4 months.
Here the map. Now they want to close that circle, so they need some driving across Canadian arctic.
What would be the best route to do that? I guess they need to drive as close as possible to the arctic ocean? then they don't need any permissions for crossing private lands?
Thanks for any ideas.

here some pic, from their trip.
One sled drove fuel - about 600liters, two others tents, sleeping bags, generators, etc

Wow! Its one thing to do something like that with a modern machine and gear. Its quite another using and wearing what they are. Hardy dudes I.d say!!!!

The second lag of this trip was from Chukotka to Kamchatka, terrain was different and they choose modern machines -Yamaha.
They said using Buran (russian snowmobile) or Yamaha doesn't make much difference because they were towing around 600kg each.
Yamaha more reliable unless temperature drops below -40, then Yamaha doesn't start and all plastic cracks.
Once broken Buran can be easily fixed in a field, Yamaha -not.

Well at least the suspensions and seats would make it a bit more comfortable. Looks like a group of 3. Are they planning on doing the Canadian Artic this winter?

I spent 20 years in the NWT and I don't think suspension and seats were ever soft as we know it!

That is quite an adventure. Hardy souls for sure.

Yes, they do.
They are planning to buy brand new sleds here and try crossing the whole continent from coast to coast. Just wanted to help him, to find out if any such trails already exist, or they have to make their own route. Perhaps, hi resolution google maps will help.

One question guys.
Please help me to solve that dilemma.
Guys want to rent sleds, but they are willing to drive about 17000km, huh I doubt if any modern sled can sirvive 17 000, and I am not sure if any companies in Canada are willing to rent them sleds, knowing they want to drive 17k.
Perhaps, only Yamaha can survive 17k. I thought may be I should ask sleds manufactures if they want to check how many km they machines will survive?
That would be a perfect AD for them, since we are going to make a movie.
Thanks for any input.
Another idea that I got: to buy old second-hand sleds (Polaris Edge for example) and run them til they die, at least they are more reliable and easy to fix.
