members are always welcomed & needed, the more numbers we can report to the Alberta Government the more of a stance we hold in issues such as land closures.

I always join both clubs in the area where we ride the most. Having spent way too many riding days sitting in meeting rooms fighting to keep areas open I can attest to the importance of numbers, the greenies like to remind anyone that listens how many hundreds of members in their organization. They just neglect to mention that most of those members are from other countries and have never set foot on the ground we are fighting over.

Was with trailseekers but due to some perceived conflict, it is no longer part of ASA. I will be joining the Alberta Beach Bunch I think as they seem to have a bunch of characters!

I sure would like to but nothing in Valleyview.:sled1:

I don't have a local club but will most likely get a varda membership this year. My riding areas are very sporadic. So I'll start there....help where/when/if I can and prob rotate somewhere else for next season. And so on.....

Golden or Revy membership this year.

Why doesn't AB have the sled membership tie in with the registration (like Montana)? I'm sure this has been looked into a bunch, just wondering....

Well Glen, since you asked I'm a Revelstoke club member, and a appointed director for the club to sit in on the Revelstoke grooming society, which then i sit on the marketing, promotions, trails commitees. And yes I'll have Revelstoke club memberships available in Dewinton. To me doesn't really matter where you join, but you should join at least one club. Right?

This post will be lost like a fart in a hurricane but I will say it anyways: BC should have a provincial pass, or mutual acceptance of individual club's passes to each other. Most, if not all other provinces work this way...come ON BC, get it together!:tearhairout:

So are you saying that a provincial pass let's you ride anywhere, or would you expect to have a provincial pass and pay a trail fee to cover grooming costs and development? Me thinks that a lot of clubs and riding areas are going to have a vastly different budgets and volunteers for there riding areas, correct me if I'm wrong, as I'm willing to be educated.

Well, for example, Snoman (Manitoba) has a province wide trail pass. Passes are sold by the individual clubs, who give all the funds to Snoman., who then distributes the money to all the various clubs around the province to fund the grooming and maintenance in their local area. The distribution is proportional to how many passes are sold by each club - the more passes sold by your members, the more money Snoman throws your way that year.

It's easy for me to say "get this done!" but likely very difficult to get everyone on board. Just 0.02 from this 'ol boy :)
