i seem to be stuck between a rock and a hard place looking at getting a newER sled, but cant decide on what to get? i'm looking for some info from people who have had both, i'm stuck between a '08-09 M8 (or) M1000 and a '08-09 RMK 800?

what are the pro's and con's of the 2?

By page 3, you will have:

All Polaris Motors blow up

Cats are most reliable with a 8 year old suspensions and handle like a barge

Yamaha is not even an option

XP will win out because Maxwell drives one.

why you gotta bring me into this.

i bring facts and 100 days a year in the hills to the table. not just throwing random junk out.

anyways i have no opinion on the matter besides the new pro i tested was very fun

If I'd have read all the anti Polaris threads on this forum 2 months ago, I wouldn't have a new assault on the trailer. But I didn't, so I do, and I love it...no issues and 10 times as fun as my Yammie. But I'd go with the Cat:d

If i was gonna get a polaris from those years i'd go with the 700, a much more reliable motor.
my personal preference is the M8 but for what we pay for these machines all the manufacturers could do a better job.

OK, if ya decide to go with the dragon it is not a bad choice. Yes they had a bad run on the 800 but if you get the updates done run a PC5 and be done with it, no worries and they run strong. A dragon right now would be good timing as you will see a lot of people unloading them for PRO's, you should be able to find a well setup Dragon for a good price.

M8's are also good reliable sleds, if you are going between the 08-09 year range go with the 09 as there were some nice upgrades that model year, adjustable handlebar risers, lighter weight, and I think even some skid/suspension changes. The 09's work great and I ride with one often, he loves his. M1000 is not a bad sled either, but I have heard a lot of cat guys say the power to weight on the 800's are great and more people like them.

Best bet like everyone is going tot ell you is to ride both sometime and see what you like best. Neither one is that far away from its competitor, and whatever you feel more comfortable on is going to make the biggest difference.
