about the only good thing about a loud exhaust is the resulting hearing loss - you can't hear your wife bitchen you out for staying an extra couple days cause the conditions were so epic
There's no doubt "to each their own" but the issue mentioned by High Velocity is exactly what we need to keep in mind. Keeping riding areas open is becoming a serious and growing problem. If we as responsible sledders try to keep how many people we PI$$ off to a minimum then all the better for our sport. Loud pipes on "Hot Rods and Choppers" don't get streets and driving areas shut down. Complaints from Tree Huggers, Greenies and Farmers definitely draw negative attention to our sport and eventually result in difficulties for area access. I've had my share of loud Hot Rods, but keep in mind theres' a significant difference between a well built and tuned Rod than a piece of crap with open headers....even though the piece of crap is louder.
