These guys are locals and know their terrain. Slope in 2nd shot not bad sun looks like it just got to it, no balling rolls coming off track print. These guys look like they had the kinda day we all wish we had yesterday. Cheers boys like the trailer setup keep the vids and pics going looks great loved the drop shot on the other post sic day.:d

Thanks Zig Zag. I was going to reply directly to Al ley cat but what you said was great! Thanks!
There is so much thought that goes into a day of riding/ skiing. Terrain aspects, terrain angles, weather, riding abilities. We are constantly re-assessing every aspect as the day progresses. Things can change fast in the mountains and if a person isn't paying attention certain things can be overlooked.
Al ley cat maybe instead of assuming what we were doing was dumb maybe ask a few questions. Photos like the 2nd one can be very informative if the right questions are asked from people who want to learn. If we don't learn we have no knowledge.

Good comments ZigZag! Pancake has an awesome response also....yea, the subtle humor with these dudes is great.

Nothing compared to the west coast but pretty good for the Rockies on April 2nd. We actually found the 50 cm......

Wow! Looks awesome! However you wouldn't catch me on that slope in the second pic either. With that much fresh, I would think stability could be a little unpredictable.

I remember going to high school in Nanaimo and when it snowed 2 to 3cm they would cancel school. Can't imagine what would happen if they saw that much snow :)

Sorry, but I don't think you can't pass judgement by looking at a picture. BY the sounds of things, these folks know their snow, aspects and terrain very well. Maybe something could be learned by asking some questions - I don't believe anyone is arguing here:beer::beer:

Dig a trench??? By the sounds of things you really don't have the knowledge to critique someone who probably is in the backcountry more days in 1 year than most people will be all of their lives.

Great pics again Dave. 2nd pic doesn't look steep enough to be a concern but it is hard to assess what the avy hazard is from a pic. With that short track Dave runs he can't get up anything steep enough to slide.;)
