What's everyone's favorite arrow, broadheads, targets. Would like to make a homemade archery target from used carpet, they look like they work the best.

I shoot a lot of archery, I make a lot of targets, my range goes out to 160 yards. The best targets I build are framed in plywood then wrap the back with a grain bag and stuff it with plastic, shrink wrap works best and it’s easy to get from the farm supply or grocery stores. Once you get the plastic pressed in tight wrap the rest of the target with a grain bag and paint on your targets. I shoot an APA bow and shoot Easton axis arrows at 72 Lb draw with 100 grain helixed broad heads. Last year I switched to a thumb release and like it a lot better then finger release.

I just play with a recurve bow. 50lb pull
I use target tips as I'm not a hunter.
Then have a redhead styrofoam target sitting on some ties against the old half standing barn.

The targets I make are identical to bulldog targets, only thing that wears out is the face, but it’ll take thousands of shots before that happens.

I see archery can be as technical as shooting long range rifles. A whole new learning process for newbies

Meateater just did a great podcast with a real expert regarding foc and other characteristics. Well worth the listen
