This pic was from summer '16, truck full of guys and bikes going to sicamous from southern Alberta.

The aero mode makes all the difference. Drops the truck super low and closes off the grille. I think only available on the limited. Not 100% tho.

I figured the aero was a gimmick but maybe it is legit, lowers truck 0.6 of an inch I think is the spec. Wifies 1500 hemi gets better mileage than the last couple eco boosts I had, hers will average about a liter per hundred better than my ecos did.

"Off-road" mode to "aero" is 4 inch I think, with normal in the middle. It's significant, you can feel the truck dropping when it goes down.
Only like 2 fingers between tire and fender when all the way down

Normal ride height to aero is the 0.6.
Hooking and unhooking a trailer with the full 4 inches travel is kind of neat, never have to manhandle the jack.

ps FYI... normal to off road #1 is up one inch, to off road #2 is normal plus two inches, normal to aero is minus 0.6, normal to exit mode minus 2 inches. Exit mode and off-road #2 mode heights max speed I think is 35km and off-road #1 is max 70 if I remember correctly, over those speeds truck returns to normal mode. Aero kicks in at 100km and returns to normal below about 80km with a time buffer.

Own 2 of them. 180000 km on one and 120000 km on the other. Both have been great. When I drove the one I could get 1280 km to 86 litres of diesel in the summer. Need heavier coil springs in the rear don’t bother with air bags.
That is almost 41 mpg. A lot of small cars have no hope of achieving that. You sure it wasnt with a tailwind? and downhill?

With cruise control on at 110-115 I could get 7L/100 on the 2012 Ecoboost. Although I do know many others that said they couldn't get below 13

Wow that's amazing you could get that kind of mileage with an eco, I've owned 4 of them they were all about the same absolute best I could get was 11/100 on flat ground at 105 via the lie-o-meter in the summer. If I went to 120 they were 12/100. Mine were all super crew 4x4.

I agree. We have around 20 fleet trucks with 3.5 ecoboost 2014-2018 and not one gets that good of mileage. All gps'd for speed so speed limits are always done and 90% highway. Might get 11 but usually 12-14 L/100 on average.

Reset and go down hill with tail wind it will read what was posted. Lol

Maybe be he meant an ecoboost 1.0L Ford Focus not an F150 😊

Let’s face it, it’s the aerodynamics and weight of a truck that makes them hard on fuel. The variation of fuel economy in all pickups regardless of manufacturers and engine size/type is minimal. No one is ever gonna make a pickup that gets 40mpg. There may be small incremental increases in economy over the next few years but nothing major. There’s better vehicle choices
if economy is your goal.

Just did a trip to Westlock. +\-550km. Averaged 12/100 with cruise set at an average of 115.
2017 ecoboost with 8000km.

If a gas pot only got 12/100 I would get rid of it as that's what I get with the diesel with my stock winter's on, the 35's aren't near as good, average around 16/100. Difference of almost 200km per tank once the bigger summer tires are on. I know of a few people that got the same milage with the Ecoboost but I also know just as many that didn't. Not sure why it would differ so much from one truck to the next. Also I remember a big change after 20k, why I don't know. Was a good truck but ended up trading it before it hit 30k

That’s works out to 40.5 miles per gallon. let me guess 12 l/100 towing.

Well the sales girl at capital Buick south side on sat buddy looking at 1/4 ton truck for wife and she said the diesel sanoma could go to Kamloops and back to edm on 1 tank, I call BS. What do I know lol

Don't really care to be involved in what ever sort of argument your trying to make. Fact is thats what it got for milage, not needing your services of approvals.
