That is correct some county areas they are open at different times for hunting.

I bow hunted them in the 90's up by Fairview. Had one come at me on a trail lined with thick brambles and bushes, my arrow bounced off his head and I went diving for cover cause he didn't even slow down. Nowhere near as big as the one in the pic though.

That there pic was from a farm in the southern states and no it wasn't 1000lbs. but it was big!! :d Farm lets hunters in for private hunts.

This one is actually real..... wasn't a "wild" boar though, it was a tame farm fed pet which was released to a hunting preserve.
