Anyone have these locks on ramp door?

I normally use the round puck locks

was thinking of putting these on instead. Are they any good though? Do they freeze up with snow or ice??

They are only held on by 3 sheet metal screws a nice deturant but I would stay with the puck locks

My Trails West has a similar style latch on the rear door.. Works good, have to spray with WD-40 now and then to loosen it up..

X2 on Trails West. There is a rubber piece that covers the key slot. Works pretty well but eventually you need to remove the tumbler to clean and lube.

we have trailers come in with the levers cut off locks still on trailer if they want to get in they will the side man door is the weakest part of the trailer we have customers that want cam locks put on the man doors but all it does is slow them down a bit or they just hook on to the trailer and open it latter a cheap metal cutoff saw will do a lot of damage in less than a minute

Have those type on my featherlite they are very nice just slam down and key lock. Rubber cover over key hole keeps it clean. Buddy has them too and was broken into easily, prybar will snap them off, but as noted a zip cut can cut bars easy too.

Charmac has them as well, They work great for about 4 years and then they started to give issues. lots of lube and keep them clean of dirt. The biggest issue was the tumblers quit working.

I've used them a fair bit on a mirage and they don't feel very secure. No issues with the tumblers but the trailer only gets used a few times a year and is stored in a heated shop the rest of the time.

My new trailer fits in may garage so it's not like its outside. It's just when I'm on weekend sled trips or bike trips in summer

Don't bother with the pucks.
If they want in they don't even bother with the locks.
They just cut the alluminum handle with a cordless zipcut.

2 big wrenches easily break a padlock. Locks are for honest people, more of a deterrent for the opportunistic thief.

Cheaper to replace a handle over repairing the side of a trailer wall...

Look at the California immobilizer we sell them for 115.00 complete with the lock they cover the handle and hook on the tube
