Been off work since June, had my shoulder MRI end of October. Now I am waiting to see an orthopaedic surgeon apt for next step.

Jumped off a boulder and landed on a cobble and total roll of ankle. And there was screaming painnn!!

I did that a very long time ago, but I was running to 1st base playing softball and stepped on the edge of the bag,.. ankle popped out and I popped it back in, WAS NOT FUN!!

My season is delayed but not over. My sled is late so this was a good time to have my intestine twist up and have emergency surgery. They removed about 10" and I'm feeling great. Better to get it over with now.

Thats my excuse for no riding. Got ejecto seato’D off the oL dirt bike and busted my Femur/hip. Currently at 6 weeks in and doc figgerd another 12 weeks before its considered “fully healed”. Might get some spring rides in at least. The fact I bought a new to me turbo XM really puts the icing on the cake. Oh well I guess it looks pretty siting in the garage!:beer:

Knee replacement end of august. It’s feeling pretty good, but not good enough to ride yet. Hoping to get some riding around the lake in the new year but I will not be making any trips out west this year for sure. I guess I choose the right year to get it done lol

I am going on 3 years with double knee replacement, I had the first one done dec 13, 2017 went riding with my dad mid March of 2018 then had my left done March 28, 2018 best thing ever. Doc said if I wanted to go just do it. Some of the best physio you can do. And no I'm not super young anymore hahaha.

I had mine done young (35). They said they don’t typically see patients with a knee as bad as what mine was at such a young age. The plus side of that is that the healing seems to be above expected levels which is always nice to hear. I guess the docs were right when they told me to quit wrecking my bikes so hard and all of the time cause one day I just wouldn’t recover. I sure thought I knew better than them though.

54 when I had them done, totally wore out. Back to work at 8 weeks on both knees. Had them done 12 weeks apart, closest doc would do.

Not for very long, it is very uncomfortable, buy good knee pads or just learn to sit instead of kneeling. Soft surfaces are fine, pack a good chunk of memory foam or heavy packing foam in the vehicle for kneeling. They tell me that will always be the way they will feel. I find mine will stiffen if I stand to long or walk to far. If I sit for 5 minutes I'm good to go again. You learn not to hurry life quite so much.
Sorry for derailment!! Only set back for me is putting a bigger turbo on my sled. Hahaha

FYI, westlock of all places has a very highly regarded Surgeon for Hip work/replacement. Dr. Lattegan I believe . Found this information out the Hard way. Apparently he’s “the” guy.

My mother-in-law was there for her knee surgery. She is VERY happy with the results.

If I was out for the season I'd be selling my sled to the kijiji extremists for $X then buying it back at the end of season or next season for $X-50% when everybody is hungry.....

I broke my ankle 2 years ago on December 18th in New York.... Surgery in Edmonton on December 30th and was riding Valemount on February 22nd with my surgeons blessing.... keep positive.
