Anyone else having a biotch of a time find rotella T4 15/40?

CT doesn't have any, Maxim truck parts who usually has it by the pallet hasn't seen any in a couple months, Nothing at Napa, or our other local auto parts place which is affiliated with Bumper to Bumper...

Made a couple calls today about totes and or Barrels of it hope to hear back on that Monday...

Same issues out in Alberta ??

Rotella of all grades is hard to come right now.

Our CT still has pails of T5 15w40 though.

If I didn't find some of the 5w40 I was going to try the Propel brand that Gregg's sells.

T4 is back ordered across Canada, they should be selling the T5 for T4 price

T3 is good for the old Massey or something that's burning a bit.

What's the price of a pail of T5? I can check inventory on the Caterpillar 15w40 at finning if people need some.

15W40 belongs in Texas… Lots of chevron delo 5w40 at my local distributor in Edmonton. AFD sells their own 5W40 synthetic diesel oil as well.

Has anyone run the Motomaster diesel oil? I see it now says developed with Shell technology, and from the documents I could find has the same rated viscosity (in 5W-40) as Rotella T6 5W-40. It's also rated Jaso M/MA2 like the Rotella is.

I ran the Motomaster in my mini excavator for a bit, no issues at all. I switched to Rotella to have all my diesels the same. I don't think there's much if any difference between a lot of them really. But at $65 for 5 gallons of Rotella it's cheap to run, I stocked up awhile ago when it was cheap.

Except for 1 which runs 0w40 I run 15w40 in all my diesel engines it's fine in the winter. Except for the pickup, nothing is running in anything colder then -15C. Even if I did decide to run when colder it would be plugged in or parked inside and the oil is still fine.

Out of the box, X15 Cummins now run 10W30 Chevron Delo. I run the 10W30 for the first 1000 hours, then switch over to Chevron Delo 5W40 synthetic. Motor just feels better with the 5W40.

For the price of oil I dont screw around with anything but name brand oils. The risk - reward is just not there for the few bucks you save.

If your putting it in a 50 hour a year old tractor in the back yard, thats one thing, but if your putting it in newer equipment, dont go cheap and dont go long on your hours.

Shell only focuses on their large bulk orders, they are not keeping up with stock for the jugs and smaller sized. I usually put in orders for 40-60g a few times a year and my last order for 60g over a year ago they canceled without notification.. I had to contact them to find out what happened and they told me they were just concentrating on bulk drum fill ups.. They did not seem to care about loosing my business so i switched to 2 other name brands that can keep me in stock and will not order from shell anymore...

We run Chevron Delo 400 at work and it's hard to get jugs or pails as well. Bulk is no problem though. Our sales rep was saying it was due to a plastic mfg plant burning down in Texas last year.
