Was up there this afternoon. We punched trail through about a foot on the upper part of the road and didnt even go up to the lake. Avy conditions were pretty unstable and with that reactive hore layer and lots of wind loading we didnt want to risk it and also we had way to much fun in the trees like i said there is lots of wind loading making it about 2ft in the trees. I did spot a pretty decent size avalanche come off the high cliff section on the left side the valley just after the bridge. Conditions are still changing rapidly and will likely change alot before the 28th. Shoot me a pm if your looking for people to ride with.
Thanks for the reply .. I went up there 2 days in a row last year but wasn't til after new year . We went all the way back at that point to .. I wanna say cirque creek area .. Also a lake there after you pass over two ranges after leaving Gorman lake
Ya last years trip was jan 2 and stayed clear of any land mines but could've got lucky I spose . There's a group of 6 or 8 of us headed that way maybe be better to stick to quartz? Or head to revy for the day haha
Was up at Gorman Thursday and Friday the 26th and 27th. Was also there last year at same time with about ten feet more snow. Snowing earlier today and tough to see. No way over the crest too Lang Creek. If it keeps snowing it will help!
