I think most older riders started on trikes, or riders on a budget. I always liked and respected them for what they were. But I'm also from the prairies, maybe they would be a lot worse in the hills.
New project. 1986 ATC Big Red plastic restore. Sun baked plastics all the way from Arizona. //uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20160420/a674396ed9e894fef38f889bc7534c10.jpg
Progress so far with lots of scraping and wet sanding. //uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20160420/9c60004790ea192883db0cb236403c71.jpg
How did you make out on the plastic restore? I have tried a few different techniques no fantastic results though.
I picked this beauty up last fall. It was in very good condition. By the time I got it running good and did a few mods it was to cold out side to open it up. I did top out in 3rd and my oh my those things are fast. Just started working on my 84. It's not in as good condition so it's getting disassembled and powder costed.

Very nice. I have an 82 that I've been acquiring parts and pieces to rebuild. It has a long way to go yet. //uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20170215/bd1fe7d2f4899ce2b5617eaf79245c48.jpg
Nice I also have a 82 that's missing a few pieces and a complete 84 that's next on the list.
The 84 is getting a full restoration next month. I'm also kinda looking for a 3rd gen to complete the collection.

Wouldn't everyone like to have a 3rd gen liquid R lol. It's in my list as well. I'd like to have all 3 personally. I'd be interested in taking that 82 off your hands if you're interested in parting with it.
Are you in any of the trike pages on Facebook? There's a few Canada orientated ones. Canada Alberta trikes, Three Wheeler Union and Trike Nation. All AB, SK an BC pages.
Just picked another new trike. 1986 Yamaha YTM 225 DR. Pretty sure this one is low hour all original still other than the rear tires and hand grips. Still needs a little work, but not much. //uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20170215/d5948da57d44ef0f43b3c3bccee2d926.jpg//uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20170215/b3b6f21ba0fa7111be561f1305b5ce97.jpg
About the only bad part on it I can see is this one crack in the rear fender. //uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20170215/5e53487b2f667824fce20f18fac862bb.jpg
And I believe this is the original oem front tire still//uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20170215/759a672fce3c41419c83a5e2fa845fdd.jpg
We had a 225 DX growing up. It would catwalk for miles! I think the dr is the same machine just has reverse.

I've thought they are kinda cool. I don't know much about one but if I ever find one super cheap I might get it.
