im looking into getting my private single engine pilots license. any one take the course? looks like it could be great experience. they offer the course 10 mins from my house with evening classes.
I would say if you have the opportunity Go For It nothing beats flying. I don't have my license but have had many hours in all kinds and sizes of fixed wing and helicopters. Love it.
Awesome!!! I'd say go for it too!!! I held the stick for a couple seconds in a chopper lol I don't think that counts. But I've logged allot of backseat flying time. I'd say that would be quite the experience !!!
a friend of mine just got he license in the UK. I presume regulations would be similar and according to him it is not the class room time that is time consuming/costly it is the flying time with an instructor as you need practice time before you can fly solo. All in all though he loved it. Got to be good in math! Good luck
that should cover it I think. I cant remember for sure exactly how many fly hours you need before you can go solo. I thought it was 50 hrs but I cant remember.
Holy crap 11g's for a PPL? I paid less than that for a commercial license (years ago though). How costs have risen.
Gov't mandatory 45hrs total (flight) training for PPL. Solo depends on student ability, usually around the 12h mark. Considering in WWII Battle of Britain there were graduate Spitfire pilots with just 12hrs on type.
Flying is fun but costly. Go for it if the interest is there.
