I was thinking of getting a K&N cold air intake first

Remember where you live... Those things are made for Arizona and they are a gimick IMO

You notice a big boost of power in the morning compared to the afternoon ?

I don't think so, and that is way more cooling than a cold air intake.

And those things have dusted alot of engines.
