Just wondering if anyone owns a rental property in Hawaii? looking to go back in February but wanting to stay away from all the rental fees of Airbnb and such.

We always e mail the host and set up a deal outside of air bnb. No fees and usually substantially reduced cleaning fees if not eliminated completely. What island will you be going to?

We went to Oahu in February and have to go back... Stayed in Waikiki for a few nights then went to Turtle bay on the north shore for a few more. Got married, so it would be nice to head back for anniversary.

We blew the budget last time on fancy resorts and a Jeep, so this time we were thinking a little cheaper and just stay in Waikiki.

A Harley is much more cost effective and suited for the islands.... just saying lol. But accommodations are the tough part for us because we do not spend enough time in them to justify high costs. I’d rather be snorkeling or cruising the coast.

let us know what you find.

Tough to get both my wife and little guy on the Harley lol, the 4 door jeep was awesome, we put on 500 miles in 10 days! Gotboost, PM me if you have any luck, we are open to new places if the deal is right. Aulani would be awesome for the little guy, the Hilton and Turtle Bay were around 450/night and both were amazing. we would do it again, and might!

We did Oahu in Feb. Last minute trip so we had to split it up between 3 AirBnBs. On day 3 of 9, on our way to our second AirBnB, we were robbed blind lol. Do not rent a soft top Jeep. They sliced the top and stole our luggage. Naive on our part to have our luggage with us but we felt so safe where we were that we didn't think of it on our quick stop. Needless to say, between that and the freak tropical storm (the one that caused snow on Maui), it was an interesting few weeks.

We have a timeshare in Waikiki and use it every year but have changed our timing from Feb to Dec as Feb is peak season. Way more tourists and if you want to extend your stay accommodations can double in price. Who cares what time of the year you go in my opinion. The weather is the same all year around.

Lol i have gone the last 2 years. 11 days in April 2 years ago and 9 days this past Feb. I think we have had a total of 4 days of sun. Monsoons, emergency broadcast flash flood warnings, massive tropical storms and road wash outs. We love the scenery but seem to be the only people we know out of many that have bad weather there haha.

We spent 15 days February in Kihei and only had 3 days of rain, snowed up high on one of them, we on our way to Hana the on day but raining hard, went back to Kihei and part sunny, we stay at Maui hills usually. Want to do a house next time and see how that goes.

Been to Maui a few times but never did the road to Hana, hung out lots at big beach, waves were good so it was pretty good entertainment. Next time maybe

They call it the Divorce highway. Take a small shuttle bus and let someone else do the driving. Some hairy hairpin turns and blind corners and having a backseat driver doesn't usually go well. Lol

We had a rental Camaro... wife was green near the top and kids were reluctant to go back down.. pretty sure it needed new brakes after I was done with it.. good times

We came the back way back from Hana, the rental car that passed us at 120k or so, had a bunch of sparks coming from the under carriage as it was hitting the bumps...haha they made good time though.

Thinking about doing Hawaii for the first time this winter. Any advice from people that have been. Priorities would be, the best beaches and the less people and shops the better.

Been to Oahu and Maui. Maui has way less people. Oahu is very busy. The island is beautiful and has unreal beaches but everywhere has traffic...always.
