Another set of junk SP bars broken.

I've bitched and got or heard nothing. Broke bars tail end of the season and replaced. With factory (DUMB, and wasn't thinking). Looked at the bars this fall and said to hell with this bought the 2014 bars that have no holes. Still out of pocket money and I now have a spare set of bars "just in case" complete with grips and hand warmers. Only hurdle now if I bust another set of bars are those damned electronic tabs sliding out of the plasitic connectors. Great idea but those can be a pain in the gob.

So got my 13 xm stuck today had to roll it over to get unstuck? As I did this the throttle side bar must have contacted the ground through the snow and bent it one inch down wards. Junk bars So what does a guy replace it with?? are the new ones any better or should a guy go aftermarket?? Like Pro Taper?? Does a guy need to order new hand grips or can a guy get the old ones off and reuse them??

Lightningmike has the right idea and Go buy a set of small jewlers flat screw drivers and start grinding. You will need it to fit in the plasitic connector so you can remove the electrical leads. An extra set of hands might help and lots of light. PAIN IN THE HOLE!! trust me.

It was a pain to get those connectors out but our mechanic had a set of tools for removing those pins. Once I figured out the first one it was pretty easy.

It works, and ya nice edit on the video to make it shorter while he messed around getting that damn thing out. I got hands like concrete or bear paws like the wife calls them. Personally it is more like a bear cub with boxing gloves on. The learning curve is frustrating.

You need a Terminal Tool to release the tabs on the pins. I got mine from Princess auto but not sure if they still have them

Has anyone thought about putting a set a rsi burandt bars or maybe a set of fly Dan
Adam bars or ever a set of pro tapers off a pro onto there sp's.

was looking at brps website for parts to compare the 13 and 14 sp bars and noticed that the 13 have 28 watt hand warmers and the 14 has 32 watt hand warmers. Is this why they work better at idle?? must have something to do with it.

I have a set of CFR Boondocker Bars, like them but they need work when you get them, You either need to cut off 1-1.5 inches of the hooks on the end. or buy extended grips and move your warmers closer in. If you just use stock ski doo grips and location you end up with no usable "flat" handlebar space and are forced to hold the hook all the time.

The 14's also have a 32 watt stator to be able to handle the load at idle, 13's have a 28 watt stator. I don't think its a good idea to put 14 warmers on a 13 unless you also upgrade stators.
