might be time for everyone to get out and do some dry run testing with their beacons, usually to late after the avalanche buries someone?

I found out a few years ago just how many had no idea how to use their beacon, Quite a few said they were professionals before the training session or on the slopes. test your riding buds, have everyone of your group ride past, turn your receiver to locate, anyone who doesn't set the receiver off going past buys a round of beers that night, or finds someone else to ride with the nest day!

That’s a good test, I’ve yelled at my buddies for not having their tethers on before but beacons are usually ok with the trailheads having the red/green

I’ve thought of carrying around a pellet gun on the hill for tether ‘reinforcement’ sort of like a boot check on site lol

haha, that would work, but i don't think a pellet gun is very safe? one of snow n Mud members lost an eye a couple yrs ago! Always a charge to get to the riding area's, with people driving mach IV or better. people forget avi packs helmets or to turn beacons on! anyway death is final, buying a couple beers tend to be more enjoyable!
