Didn't buy one but been watching like everyone else, and totally hope that The G4 thing turns out ok for the guys who own one, honest !! Got a few buddies who bought one and would never wish them any bad luck. And they seem to work well , so that's encouraging.
But no way can you not notice the completely different attitude and lack of negative critical comments from the Cat/Poo/Yammy crowd towards the pretty obvious similar situation the Doo guys are presently in as compared to when Cat and Poo especially had their new release issues. Just seems to be far more compassion and class being shown towards the buyers of an obvious problematic release, and I think the belt thing should be easy to fix, the rest not so much.
Comparatively, I see class and maturity being displayed, which wasn't as evident when the shoe was on the other foot.

I tend to agree but there are the obvious haters and key board jockeys that pop up from the dark side and have all the answers. One would think they are engineers or something!

Class and maturity sure but the dooguys are pissed and bitching enough on their own about the sleds that are having problems, same discussions on S.W.. A better product was expected from BRP - fawk the first year excuse.
For 17K the most hyped up game changing sled did not materialize, but it is definatly a game changer for doo's reputation.
First year issues can be expected some what but claims of two years of testing where made and the flaws were know by C.K and doo during the spring rides. All the big name yippers have vanished along with any support from doo.
There have been enough sleds with belt issues and failed bulkheads that doo shod have said something to the dealers. I can see a while yet for the bulkhead fix but acknowledge the issue so consumers know whats up.
I have gotten a written response from Doo that they will not warranty any belts - this will be a dealer support choice - "belts are wear items and will not e covered". BRP did not respond to my bulkhead question at all.
Huuuge slap in the face for BRP consumers that are having issues.

I am a pretty loyal doo supporter and don't bash the others to much - but I will deliver the online bashing to doo on a regular basis if they don' cover the bulkhead. Pay for A-arms sure - if they would have failed first - a totally trashed font end and perfect A-arms-huge design fawk up.

G4 s an awesome sled when running as expected - to bad it has pricy fixes needed and so far the purchaser is not being assured of help.
It will be a for doo or a for me depending on what dealer says. This is by no means a dealer issue who has been sympathetic so far but hands are tied by doo- this is a Valcourt issue.


Not a game changer for my sledding future but it may change the brand that is under my azz and a lot of others.

LennnyR- Hope they don't depend on a new G4 to come get me , probably be 8 hr late after spending 30 minutes watching Norona's video, "what to do after getting your new $17000 mountain sled to be able to ride it " , then researching and changing clutch springs and ramp angle , cleaning the oil off the sheaves and engine compartment, installing braces to protect bulkhead in case the ski's impact something other than fluff and travelling at Little girl speed to break in the belt, cause that " might" be the reason they blow a belt.
I'm hoping they ride Cat/Poo/Yammi, at least for a couple more months till the consumers get these things dialed in and get that info back To BRP. .

I would not say haters. But quads and sxs' that I ride when you have a difficult model from new and it costs a pile each trip it's very disappointing.

Yes its nice to see the bashing has calmed down.

If I rode a sled like my sxs I would need 50 belts already and a few modules.

Engineer's would be working, we are posting chit.

Being a yamaha rider for years I had to grow a thick skin. I worked at a BRP dealer for 2.5yrs in the early 2000's and that made me a guy that would never own their product. I see the same chit every time a new model is released from them and it's not acceptable. I also worked at a Yamaha dealer for 3 years and the new models were very well tested before release. The recall/bulletin's from BRP have always been high versus other brands. Cat and Polaris have had issues also and the 2012 proclimb release was ugly too and it hurt them big time. I think Cat won't make that mistake again. I am impressed with the Axys so far, weak a-arms seem to be the biggest issue and this season will prove the motors. Sidewinder sales may be pretty good next year if the sleds stay performing well with no issues. Cat keeps making changes for the better but the chassis is getting old. There are so many good choices now that BRP better handle this correctly of they will loose may customers since there are so many good choices.

There is nothing worse than being stuck with a product that has major issues.Making a bad situation out of someone elses bad luck is petty.I've been down that rode as a Poo owner and had great luck until my 2014 Pro snowcheck was a complete lemon.I finally had to just suck it up and trade it in that spring on a 15 which had been flawless,still cost me 3k I wasn't prepared to spend.Spendy fixes like bulk heads shouldn't happen with extensive testing.Belt issues can be resolved but I know what its like burning through $200 belts every 3 rd ride do too poor factory alignment.As Usual these companies think the consumer is their R@D dept and fix the issues on the next model year while screwing the 1st year guys.

Nothing to worry about. The $17,000 G4 will be running as good as the $12,000 2016 T3 by the end of the year for sure.

Funny you say that cause i had similar experiences with BRP. I was involved in their hill climb team with a local dealer from 2000 to 2005 and involved in the problem child RT. With similar results you experienced, they BRP engineers would discount or refuse to listen to our test results and went with their own theories and ideas. Which generally ended up becoming a consumer test mule program. I was also involved in the 08 XP test pilot program and i rated it as a work in progress and IMO needed many changes and not ready for consumer sales. We terminated our relationship at that point.
History has it the 08XP was a POS. Like the RT and a few others. They have a lot of nice ideas but i not sure about their R&D, unfair pressure on those guys for dead lines.
