Allison Trans Rebuilds? '06 Dmax

My pop's '06 Dmax LLY Allison is on the way out at 330K. Threw some codes the other day, then he got it checked out and they found a bunch of schrapnel in the pan. Reman from GM is $6900 installed. Anyone know anywhere else that rebuilds those Allisons? He's an hour SE of Saskatoon.

I have an 06 LBZ was having issues with. Nadp in Edmonton was 3500 for a stock or 4200 for a heavier duty exchange, core would be on top of that. The online BC diesel price was a bit steeper. Probably find a shop to rebuild little cheaper but its food for thought. Re and Re was quoted at 10hrs for my truck

i heard suncoast rebuilt was around 5gs plus you old one and labour

Make sure the wires in the lh wheel well are OK, it can all cause the codes or take tranys out

Tcm and ecm wires rub the plastic liner and not protected by much tape

Here's a pic if one I did last week, had pressure control codes, no reverse ect

Fixed wires and codes gone, took seals inside out as it over pressured it inside

the gear centre has allison in stock, and 3 year warranty, but as tex says check over for you dont need a 2nd failure

Where is the location of the bad wires? Coming out of the back of transmission or up at the module?

Lh front wheel well below the ecm and tcm

mine had a atf oil leak at the rear harness/clip that goes into the tranny
cause codes and safe mode problems had to blow it with air and cleaner once to get home and
later changed out harness inside the tranny been fine since

He ended up going with a reman from GM.
