What does wine have to do with oil?

Shut the tap off to Van & Vic if she wants to make a point.

Majority of their oil comes out of Washington state so they probably wouldn't notice much change

She is essentially imposing a sanction. Good move

Now Alberta should send all the BC oil workers in Fort Mac home tomorrow. Lots of snow forcast for the Alberta foothills tomorrow. Why go to B.C. and put of with Avalanche risk and get harassed by the Queens Cowboys.

Yeah. I live in Salmon Arm and work in Ft McMurray. Hard for me to decide which side to pick. Hahaha. I don’t drink wine so I guess that answers that.
Seeing how your income is AB, I guess your decision is easily made....

Shutting the tap off hurts Alberta just as much if not more. In picking wine she ensures Alberta is not affected and damage to BC is maximized.

It might also cause a rift between the BC NDP and the interior residents. A coalition government can’t afford that.

Exactly. This government can't afford to loose a single vote because they won't get it back in the next go around.

And that is exactly what she is stirring up - political discontent in a by-election. Just because we don't care for most of her policies and approaches, doesn't mean she isn't smart...or at least smart enough to have, and listen to, some pretty good political advisors. She has been pro-pipeline all the way and walks a very fine line with the traditional NDP stance in this area anyway.

She’s just trying to get votes now. What a biotch

Haha. Yup but a pretty smart one. This will be interesting to watch. She certainly isn't afraid to pick a fight when she feels someone isn't being a good neighbor. No quiet working stuff out over dinner and a glass of wine for her :)

Those two clowns think BC consists only of lower mainland and Vancouver island.... so they do not give a crap about a wine industry. I would be surprised if they even knew we had a wine industry in prince George and the Okanogan.

I’m sure a boycott of out of province workers could help your decision. I’m sure there are more than enough jobs in Alberta for albertan residents through our slow times if Alberta decides to ban non residents workers or tax the fawk out their cheques.

this is thread is ridiculous....wake up and join reality, no province can stand alone and these politicians are idiots
You are right - no province can stand alone. Can be entertaining watching a cat fight though. Nothing any of us can really do except sit back and watch. Now where is that popcorn emoji?

I am hoping Sask joins the party shortly...

I am no fan of Notley but she has been on point calling out Trudeau and stopping BC wine from coming into Alberta.

Good for Notley, she finally did something right, I suspect she wouldn’t have if Kenny was riding her ass but this is what Horgan deserves. Funny the out cry on the leftist news about how unfair, how nasty to pick on the small guy (winery’s and retails) no coverage though on the thousands of little guys (workers) displaced by anti pipeline rhetoric or the hundreds of thousands of Canadians affected by not being able to move commodities to tide water.

I have a deep belief that this is all smoke an mirrors and she doesn't actually support the pipeline at all. She has to put on the appearance that she is working for Alberta if she has even the smallest hope of ever getting in again, but I'm convinced she has long term plans that would severly impede the development of pipelines.
