Just a curious question..... Who has stock exhaust on their atv still, and the "stock spark arrester" in the tailpipe still?

Both of ours do, both of Glens do, all of Norms, Gerald's, Brads etc.....

Kenny spoke specifically to this today in his press conference. Basically stated that because of;

1. last years spring fires required resources from across the province, country & world
2. firefighters numbers are down due to quarantine & illness and they are unable to bring in outside assistance due to travel restrictions
3. Wildfires create additional air quality concerns which when dealing with a respiratory virus is not good

The fact that golf courses, parks, etc are already shut down it makes sense in theory but cutting short a ****ty sled season when there is still tons of snow in Swan Hills, Edson & the north is a little much, they maybe should have set it for April 26, that would give 2 additional weekends for sleds and by then given the forecast there will be no snow left. If there is enough snow to sled then fires likely are not a concern, in areas with no snow maybe there is cause for concern.

I don’t believe in spark arrestors. I’ve seen them get covered in carbon and mud and bake on there and then later fall or get blown off. Exhausts run way hotter with them as well. I’ve seen more issues with smouldering debris falling off pipes than a spark arrestor actually stopping a spark from flying out of a pipe. Generally I can touch my slip on after normal riding conditions. Can’t do that with a stock or one that’s plugged off with a screen or quiet core.

My brute force stock steel muffler would start fires on the outside from muffler heat

I put aftermarket exhaust on it with aluminum body, never had a fire or close to fire again, now the only thing is the screen wasn't as good as stock

But the pile of burning stuff that would fall off the stock muffler was way worse, like 10 times to start a fire

Lots of snow on baseline yet. Too early for down hills.
