We're following America into two classes. The rich and poor. At 15 I quit school and went to work at a sawmill. Within a year I was over $20 per hr in 1985. By the time I was 18 with overtime I made almost 100 k a year. But my apartment was 350. New trucks were 20k. Gas and beer was almost free. Today I employ and pay experienced painters $25 - $30 per hour. Rent is $1000 for a dump. Gas is expensive and beer just got there too. I would love to pay more but biding work against company's employing foreign workers makes that impossible. Not to mention the big generals grinding my prices even after being low bid. Work more and make the same is what it takes these days. Sad but true. I truly worry about the young people these days.

The people that run this world have been extremely successful in the last 30 years in forcing the workers to work long and hard and come away with just barely enough to get by, forcing them to continue to work long and hard.
