so i took my truck in for OPI and the pass side airbag light is on (on the dash) and in order for it to pass i need to get rid of that light, is it possible to disconnect that light without the airbag going off? just till i can figure out what is up with the airbag

as far as i know there is only one air bag light for the whole system, and thats the red airbag in the cluster of the dash... there is also an orange light that comes on when the passenger side airbag is disabled, which you should be able to turn off with the key when ya enable it again... but hey, i've been wrong before

You cannot disconnect the lite and expect it to pass....... It won't pass the "dash lites bulb check"........all warning lites on the dash must be working, and if it's not working, then it usually means someone has disconnected the system or removed the bulb:( jus' sayin'

I have no idea about fords except their easy to steal:d, but in my gm the pass seat has a sensor in the base so it knows if someone is sitting there or not so it turns the seatbelt and light on or off and I've heard it dissables the airbag on that side aswell, so maybe the seat sensor is malfunctioning if your has that.

Yeah what he said.......sometimes you can just couple the seat belt on the passenger side to check for the sensor problem( might work on the light if it is the sensor. try it.

If you enable the pass. side air bag it will shut off. That is the only purpose of that light. the warning light is in the guage cluster. The inspection facility should know that unless they are just being d!cks.

It must be different than my 01. The light in the guage cluster is the warning/diagnostic light. Does the light flash when you turn on the key?
