Would a bike run better if a guy didn't reoil the filter after cleaning? Runin around in the snow shouldn't need it. My thinking it will help in suck more air. What's your guys thoughts on this.
That's my reasoning for a dry regular filter. You are running just a pre filter. Ran my bike with oiled filter last year and it seemed to run just fine. Was wondering if it would run better dry?
I don’t see a problem with that, there’s no dust in the snow except for snow dust. I ran for a while with the regular air filter but it iced up. Went to the pre filter and haven’t had any problems.
Always ran new stock un-oiled air filter with pre-filter supplied with snowbike kit. No problems other than snow build up in air box. This year will try no air filter but 2 pre-filters. Was told the 2 pre-filters rubbing against each other reduce snow build up......will see.
Guys. Just run a pre-filter - no foam. Foam and oil is to reduce dirt intake. We don't have that.
Get a new airbox, cut the bottom out so you don't have the snow build up in the box. It let's it escape. Make sure that you clean the pre-filters to get rid of excess moisture after you thaw out. That is all there is to it.
I run the Yeti intake on both my bikes. That seems to work the best.
