Wanted to bigbore the XP over the summer, but reluctantly I cannot justify the $2500-$3000 it's gonna take to do it. So probablly just doing a head and track instead. I'll be riding in Golden, Revelstoke, and Sicimous primarily and don't want to use race gas. What compression head can I go with and not have detonation issues. Again, the sled will only be used in the mountains but the staging areas are fairly low in Revy and Sicimous. Was thinking 13.5 - 1 would be in the ballpark. Can anyone confirm if I'm on the right track.

Running a 13.5ish:1 ;) head and mixing 50% race gas in Revy and anything below 3500ft. Needs about 105 octane. 13:1 would be safer IMO, probably would need to toss a little bit of race gas in with that at Revy but not much.

You could skimp on the race gas and go easy on the throttle going up the trail but if you run into a deep powder day and you're not riding the groomer tracks, and if it might mean you gotta get on the throttle at the parking lot.......could be expensive for ya if u blow it up. I run a little more race gas than I need just in case I get into such a situation, better $10 for more fuel than a new motor. Some guys get a little happier with the throttle lever coming down at the end of the day when racing with the buddies back to the truck and bad things happen too.

Instead of a big bore kit, does anyone make a turbo kit for these sleds?

I built a couple of big bore stroker machines in my quest for more power and torque out in the hills. I found that I could get away running 100LL if I ran slightly rich in some of them. I have some spare raw domes so I can have different ones cut for different compression ratios. Right now I am running a set of 15 to 1 domes (have some 17 to 1 domes also) with 720 jets in a set of CS52mm carbs and it runs very great.

Considered a y pipe, pipe and clutch kit from spi??? Have seen some really nice gains there along with a set of v force. If your wanting to keep it as stock as possible. PM me if you are interested in pricing id be more than happy to give you a quote. The cranshop twins and v-force reeds are always a nice combination aswell.

I've been told by a couple different guys, some big names with BRP products, that the reeds they use on the XPs and the Vforce 3 reeds were pretty much the same and that I should put the $400 or so some where else. Anybody else been told that. One guy has a very, very well known shop and some stuff on the hills that speak volumes for him. But i don't know, that's why i ask here.:d
