Adjustable Limiter Strap

I know the experts come with them. Has anyone added it to their sled? For the guys that have them are they usefull or just a gimick thing? I wonder how they hold up to to the cold, snow, and ice. Might work great on day 1, and locked at a setting on day 2.

I am looking to loosen out my limiter as much as possible but I still need to be able to climb a hill when I have to as well.

Yeah i freely admit I am not the most mechanically knowledgable person. i would just end up having the dealer put it on. I checked and the cost isnt too bad considering i dont really have a shop and it would likley take me all day with a ton of cursing.

pretty simple process
i put it on a '19 x and tunnel has the predrill marks and so does the kids '20 freeride
Have only rode it 1 day but i did mess with it quite abit on the turbo demo last spring
def does make a difference for trails to climbing versability
prb take a couple hours on the first install but could do in a hour now that ive done one

I’ve had it in my 17 since they came out with it. I like it and yes it does make a big difference between long and short. It will freeze up on the real cold days. If I really need to be out of wheelie mode (long position) I’ll spend the time and chip the ice away to be able to switch it. They do sell a rebuild kit for them. It’s the plastic arm that breaks on them.

i put one on my '20 Freeride. as others have said, it makes a noticeable difference especially when hill climbing in terms of keeping the skis down. it was a bit of a pain to install and for my installation, the pivot axle that the front skid shock attaches too needed to be removed and also the shock from that axle which means you need a bearing puller and ideally some circlip pliers to remove one of the wheels. that shock then gets a new axle (provided in the kit) and is reattached to the skid with spacers to keep the new limiter strap in place.. the old pivot axle then gets it's wheel reattached and installed back in the skid behind the front shock. read over the BRP instructions and see if it's something you're up for.

How much?
Cause a QSL shock in the rear makes a huge difference and is two bolts to install.

This is also what I was thinking $1200-1600 gets you both rear shocks. I’m guessing the limiter should be cheaper but still have to run those cheapo stock shocks

ive been thinking about shocks as well.

Enzo likely is the best since its set up for the rider. granted its using the same hardware and his kit replaces the torsion springs. I really didnt want to have to remove the entire skid myself. Like I said I dont have a shop, limited tools, and Im more of a paper pusher than a mechanic.

Even if you buy a new flox shock they arent setup up for the specific rider correct?

I've had them on all our G4's and love it! The tunnel mount version is most robust. The handle bar version seems easier to break. Key is to park on a mogul to compress front of skid to reduce cable stress when shortening. Also melting sleds off overnight helps. I just had dealer install on my Turbo Freeride as it helps on bigger steep climbs

I think it's a great addition. Run it short going down the trail or if we're playing on some steep hills. Long when we're boondocking. It hasn't frozen up yet but we rarely get temps below -10. So nice to change the length of your limiter strap in about 30 seconds.

It's like having a Pro RMK and a Khaos in one sled.

The PROs are known for keeping the front end down, being stable and great for technical riding - short limiter strap
The KHAOS is more lively, picks the skis up easier and is much more lively - long limiter strap

It's just really to have the ability to switch between the two so easily

Get the floats, adjust air pressures to your liking.

Or if you go coil over if you don't like it you have to swap out springs or get the valving re done.

What did everyone choose for their settings on their setup?

I told them 2 - 4 but it seems more guys say 1 - 3

It comes set up from factory 3/5.
I’ve read guys saying to leave it here to keep the front end down.
Adjusting it for 2/4 still gives the short setting one tighter than standard strap factory setting.

Limit strap:
Longest 1
Factory 3
Shortest 5


Adjustable strap comes
3 to 5
I also loosened it so it will be
2 to 4 .(This involves lengthening both straps one hole.)
