I believe there are two types of Acupuncture. One type works on the muscles directly, which I have had. The way it was explained to me was they jab the muscle with the pin and the muscle contracts, sometimes even starts quivering (it did that to me a few times and she said "perfect"! this is a good thing. They leave the needles in for a while and once they are pulled out the muscle totally relaxes.

The second type is, an example... they poke a needle in your foot when you have a headache.... that's the best way I can describe it. How it works I have no idea. I do believe the mind is a very powerful tool. Weather the needle in your foot actually does anything??? or maybe you think it will do sometime so it does??? As long as it works does it really matter.....

went for my first session today. Very interesting and for what ever reason I thought the needles were going to be "uncomfortable". In fact it was painless. Two more sessions to go and hope it works. She is also treating me for the other ailments bothering me such as rotator cuff.

There are two methods that I know of and have only tried the IMS. Had mediocre results from the treatments but due to chronic pain have been curious about trying the Chinese traditional method. Can you let us know how the treatments go ?
