any S&M peeps try it? I have 3 appt booked starting on Thurs to try and help with my illness (ramsy hunt syndrome which is the chicken pox virus hitting the central nerve system in the face) Very painful and I need some relief! Taking morphine is not the answer for long term. Tks - Dennis

Do they work on the area only giving issues or does acupuncture fix (hopefully) all issues during treatment?

I hope it works all the best.. take some friendly advise from an affected family member x 2 whatever you do don't let them give you oxycotin... has a few diff medical names but it will turn you into a junky before you even know what's happening...

take care and let us know how things go

Thanks! Funny you should say something about oxycotin. When I was first diagnosed with R.H. they put me on oxy plus a few more meds. This was 3 1/2 years ago. After 2 weeks on oxy I was out of my mind. I could not even look in the mirror to shave. Was shaking like an idiot. As much pain I was in I told doctors no more. They thought I was crazy! It took 10 days to wean myself off of that crap plus I had to take a liver test after 1 month. I wish I had known about oxy as I would have not taken it in their first place. Morphine is bad enough but nothing on oxy.

By the way, just some advice to everyone to make sure you expose your little ones to the chicken pox virus (I know there is a shot you can take now as well). When you get an outbreak, your body is actually killing the virus. Unfortunately when I was young all I had was a couple spots and that is it. So with out a chicken pox outbreak the virus goes dormant and will surface later in life. Some people get shingles, others bells pulsy and in rare cases ramsey hunt which is what I got. Not fun!!

I've had acupuncture a few different times for injuries and it seemed to be the turning point begining the recovery.
I always knew when they hit the spot, it ached, not like a pin prick when it missed or wotever acutally happened. perhaps the blood had started to flow better ???
are you going to a asian for this? the chinesse dude who did me was really in touch with pressure points and diet.

Again, funny you mention oxy. I've been on it for 10+ years due to my back, they keep feeding it to me like candy and I'm fully an addict, I take it still for the pain but also cause of the addiction. All the stories about it are true, you "DONT" want to be around me if I run out before a refill. Have to check into a rehab center if I want off it now.

that does not sound like fun. I guess I should not tell you what happened to my neighbour who got addicted to pain meds (not sure what kind) due to back injury. :(
Take care of yourself!
