Reminds me of the massive slide that we witnessed at Gorman in 99’. One fatality but could have been 20. Sled was over 20 ft down. Took the dogs 3 hrs to find the guy

a few more pictures that a friend sent me. A buddy of his was with SAR and said that the rescue was hampered by flood water circled in red in one of the pictures. he also included a summer time view.

Those pictures were taken after they blasted but the original avalanche was rated at 3.5.

Yep first rule on avys. Snow doesn't stick to rocks

Just heard on the news that the 2 caught were a father and son. Very sad, my condolences to the family.
