It’s still a very small battery compared to the Oakley/509/other. I have used them a lot and at the end of the day when I want it most it is usually dead even in burst mode.

The Abom Ones are no larger than the 509 Kingpins. If anything they are smaller.

I can take a photo of all three I have side by side next time I am on days off.

That being said, Abom is developing an actual Snowmobile specific goggle. They were against Motorsports products at first but have realized the size of the market and I am told a possible external battery pack you could plug in as an addition to the internal one if you wanted and a nose guard is in their plans. There are people claiming to sell a snowmobile Abom version now, it’s just the HEET version which was first designed as a smaller skier helmet version and they have since marketed as a snowmobile version but it’s the same goggle.

If they release that version next winter I would sell all my others as the Abom lens and indicator for your mode is still one of the nicer versions.

You have a set on Aboms?

I do find the quality of the Aboms to be very good.

Also with the Oakleys you can buy additional baterys, there the same batteries as the Frankensled Flashlights, and several other flashlights. On the ABOMS, one guy I know brings a portable charger and charges this when he stops for lunch.

Abom has two goggles, they have a ski and a snowmobile now, see both links,

ABOM 1 Ski -

ABOM HEET - Snowmobile and Ski

I was looking at mine and there ABOM 1 Ski, as there from last year. And on a full charge I've got between 5 hrs and 7 hrs of service. I use the yellow always on, and when im stopped and hot I will kick in the turbo. I have a set of Oakley Infornos as well, I prefer these personally. I have a skidoo carbon fibre helmet and I don't have an issue with these current googles I have. The HEET version may be a bit smaller as well.

And when you go to the skiers link the HEET is the same goggle as the HEET snowmobile. It’s no different. It was designed for skiers and then marketed as snowmobile users. It’s design that they claim made it for snowmobile use was its helmet capability which they first used for skiers/snowboarders then realized hey let’s market these for power sports.

The Ones don’t supposedly work as well for helmets but I have had no issues. They could easily say the Ones are for power sport as well. No different than Oakleys, they were not designed for power sports but fit helmets fine.

Skiers. https://abom.com/collections/snow-sport

Power spirts. https://abom.com/collections/power-sports

Same HEET goggles. 10 colours for skiers, 10 colours for power sports. Exact same goggle for both.

Yes I have a set of Abom Ones. This is the third winter I have had them. I have them with me when I travel but I hardly use them because the Infernos work better overall. Yes you can find replacement batteries for the Oakleys. It’s a fairly common cell they use. I have two sets of Oakley and four lens. I managed to find spare lens half price when they discontinued the line.

For the Abom I was going to make my own external battery with the mini USB and a amazon 5watt battery pack. It’s all it needs to be what I want. If people get all day on theirs that’s great. I just find for my use they don’t last to the very end. They are better quality and use CarlZiess quality lens.

If Abom does release their actual snowmobile version like they have discussed it will be a good option.

I received a pair of these ABOM Heets for christmas. I have not got to use them yet. When I first started trying to turn them on after charging the battery, it seemed as if there was a problem, the led would just flash and shut off. I realized that they are very picky on having the lens connected to the frames. Is this common? or should I see about getting a replacement set? If I get them connected properly and put them on and off a few times it usually looses connection again and I have to piss with them to connect again.

Thanks!

Yeah that does not seem right. Mine have never lost connection.

I have The Abom Ones, (bought them on sale during xmas ) They are the exact same size as my Oakley flight deck goggles they fit my FXR helmet perfect. (I don't know the model helmet)

I wore them yesterday for the first time, It was about -12 . All I can say is, game changer! I love not having to worry about breathing techniques anymore. I left them off and just turned on when needed.

I also got to use my Beofang radio from Ray for the first time yesterday, I loved that as well. riding in trees, and telling guys to stay back or ask if they need help is so useful.
