I know that if it was in alberta and it was a vehicle,
the forestry will get it out for you and charge you with the expense for recovery as well as the fine. This I know because of a company truck that was stolen, burned and left in the bush.

I'd advise the Ministry of Environment and let them deal with it. Of course they don't have any people or funding left! ;)

Well in alberta if its reported to the RCMP BY LAW they are required to tag it with an abandoned vehicle tag stating that if its not removed with in 72 hrs it will be towed at the owners expense and storage fee's will apply. Once its towed there is a 30 day window where contact is to be made to a registered owner or any person with a financial interest in the unit, that it has been impounded and the fee's are racking up.( cliffs towing on a sled= $60/day). If no one can be contacted that can provide proof of rightful ownership after 30 days it then is SUPPOSED to enter the ALBERTA VEHICLE DISPOSALS PROGRAM where it will be auctioned off to cover any towing expense's and any profit goes into general surplus of the province. I know this after i recovered a 99 t cat for the rcmp and once i realized i was getting screwed i read the highway safety act and every act that falls under it for these types of situations. After i found the owner of the machine and he got dicked around for 2 months by Cliffs towing and the rcmp they finally released it for the tune of $1400.00 which didnt include my charges to the rcmp. Long story short DONT waste your time and efforts aiding the situation. REPORT IT AND FORGET IT. Just my opinion:cool:

Reminds me of BP,guy is a douche,we are extremely lucky to doo what we doo where we doo. He should be billed the heli bill & littering fine should be around $ 4000.00 this should eliminate this individual from the hill for a season or 2. Pack it in pack it out means everything sled included if you can't get it out the day it happens you make a plan get whats needed to get it out and get it done. A guy like this makes us all look bad. I think if I were the pres of the local area club I might have put a group together and gone and got it out before the season ended. Would have made for a better impression of us all.Hey Wildlife can sling it out when there out terrifying the caribou doing the count.:nono:

ya but then we would have a big tangle of yarn knitting needles layiing around.:d

littering in park area 5000, heli unit out 2500, storage fees priceless. just sayin make the azzhat pay. regardless of the situation this person neeeds to take some responsibility. cant afford/ no time etc doesn't work i would think. get the govt after him then you have to pay kinda like maintenance enforcment stuff. gaurenshee wages, lean on other property makes a guy pay fast and would be kinda embarassing i think as well. when your employer gets a notice on the wages thing and asks why. and you tell him its because you were to lazy to pack out your broken down sled well:eek::eek: i aam thinkin it would be alittle embarassing.

The sled was probably stolen. If they have the balls to ride a stolen sled I doubt they would have any problems leaving it up there when it blew up.
