Should be able to sled from Wabamun to Seba on the lake this year with the Whitewood power plant shut down.Gainford and Darwell are sled friendly.It's a short season locally though.

yes but to get off the lake closest to the trails ya gotts ta go through seba.
actually there is no way off the lake at that end without going through seba or someones private yard.
i just know they have been real a holes to the group tryin to get the dock and beach fixed and want nothing to do with a boat launch at that end either.

We joined the AB club this year. They just had a meet & greet wine / cheese last weekend but I was up North. They have regular meetings and planned events throughout the year. They send out a news letter by e mail with all of the upcoming events / meetings etc.

Bogger you ask some very true questions. From my past 30 years being a club member I can tell you this. You get out of it what you put into it. If you sit back in your chair and whine because nobody ever calls you to go riding or you think there is no fun things going on you will not have a fun club experience. Its up to you to get involved and if you reallly want it make it work. You can start a ride to wherever do whatever meet at someones shop and bullcrap as a group of friends. Clubs are better with some new outgoing members such as yourself as new ideas and excitment brings us old guys new life as well.
Just remember it may take some time to make big changes but getting your group together and getting active will make the start to a fun club experience.

BUT going overboard will also burn you out. So start slow and work your way up.
I`m sure you have a few ideas on what to do to make it a fun time.
Clubs have rules and these rules sometimes need to be flexed and relaxed to add to the fun factor. Just dont give up the first time something doesn`t work out.

Give it a try with a local club you have 2 in your area and if that doesnt work for your group start you own club. Social club or trail club your pick.
At the least join the ASA because we need the numbers more than anything right now. Many new issues coming up that will affect our sport and lifestyle we enjoy so much.

Yup, we had a blast on last years ride with all of you. I can see this being a weekly weekend event if we ever get snow.............

So far so good glad to see your becoming a club member. Maybe Alberta Beach will have to come ride the fort Snow Angels trails one day this year. Club ride!!!!

The more the merrier, I still need to hook up with the Wednesday night crew one of these times. I joined them a year and a half ago and havent made one ride with them yet.....

I can ride right to your door, it's on the way to norms... last new years eve I rode from my place to norms...partied all night, welcomed the new year and in the morning woke up and rode home....

Ended 2009 on a sled.... began 2010 on a sled.... gonna have to keep it up...:d
