Well long story short got my bonus cheque and went in to pay cash for a new sno pro 151 m8. annnnnd the salesmen(kid) approched me and i had asked to to explain to me the sled ..wuts new this year.. different specs from the last year.. etc.. the best part is he pretty much told me what colour the hood was and what the handle bars looked like. All i have to say is .... they will never gey any of my buisness, they should hire someone who rides and knows about sled and how they work. NOT SOME KID THAT WAS SELLING SHOES PREVIOUSLY. :nono: go to argyl... i paid 2500 less then wut they were asking for their sleds... and i got a m8 hcr.

i thought id share with everyone lmao wut a joke.

That mega sucks..... Specially to hear about a new dealer

At least you got what you wanted and were able to spend your money somewhere =) - There is always a bright side!

Did you ask Argyl to match any prices outside the city? Personally you bought there you paid to much

Just a side note , I have been a cat rider for years , I said I would give these guys a chance. I drove to the Park on Saturday (I knew Argyl was open as well as the other Cat dealers) to find to my amazement that the new Cat store that is trying to get new customers and offer a service was closed for the holidays!! Now I am not saying I am a smart fella by any means but if you are trying to break into a market that is tough to get into , you should probably be open to service the would be new customers.. Just my two cents. It`ll be tough for me to make the extra effort to come to your new store to get service and parts in the future. I don`t think I am wrong on this issue. If I am I apologize in advance. This goes back to what the poster said. You want the WOW factor to be high especially when starting out. Hire the guy that knows the machines and offer the parts and service that people want and expect.

Went there today, they need to get some parts inventory in soon. I was looking at buying a clutch puller for 900 Cat (800MC/900MC/M8 all use same puller) and they didn't have one. Time will tell how they will do, more to being a dealer than new sleds and quads.

Hope they get it together, hate going to Edmonton dealers.

Give the new guys a bit of slack, they just opened up.
IMO if you (mountainsledmania) didn't call back and let the owners know how you felt then they suffer as we the customers do in the future. If I was the new owner I would sure want to know so I could correct it.
There may have been a good reason they were closed over Christmas Deasoninc, who knows.
And as far as parts go, it takes time to build stock and know what customers need. They've only been open about a month, they are still getting it figured out.
If I were the boss the main concern I would have is the Customer Service and the only way to change it is to let them know.

I've yet to hear of a sled dealer or independent builder that someone out there doesn't have a reason to dislike, it's just the way it is.

On a different note - has anyone changed the stock spring or weights on the 2010 M8? I was wondering if the 68g weights are too light in the steep and deep

not making excuses for them. but i remember when i became a dealer it took a while to get the "must have fast moving parts for the manufacturer"......

its called growing pains.....for the new dealer as well as the customers....

I agree there is growing pains , and I understand it takes time to get stock , but it's pretty hard to do anything if your doors are closed. I run my own business and if I closed and didn't supply the service i was offering when I first started then I wouldn't be here like I am 9 years later with a dedicated client base. You only get out of it what you put into it is all I am saying. You know how people always talk about the first impression?:)

1 post, 1 slam on a new dealer, 1 plug for their closest competition. Find $2500 a bit hard to believe, but it's your story.

Yeah, Im no expert but I doubt there is half of $2500 markup in a sled. Makes it hard to believe that one dealer is out that much.

When I go to dealers (most) I expect to have to order, and if they have in stock bonus. I went to river side to get puller for XP and guess what I had to order it. Like somebody else said before that stock is the worst investment to have....Staff just steals the stuff. HMMMMMMM

You bought at Argyll? No, seriously - you bought at Argyll?
Hey, uh, can interest you in some land I got for sale... lol
j/k

As for sled prices, I just picked up a 09 M8 SP 153 from Outlaw for 11445 OTD. (No dickering - just the floor model sticker price)
And the Kajjiji Ad for Echo Cycle for the same sled.... 12915 OTD.

Prices were early Sept. That's a difference of 1470 - in my pocket.
That $1500 went a LONG ways on accessories.

If I were to buy again - I'd seriously have to make a trip up to Bonnyville...

All right, before we get to carried away here I would like to set the record straight here, and have a opportunity to defend our new shop. My name is Chris Parsons and I am the General Manager of ASE Motorsports, as well as a partner. I do appreciate all of the comments good or bad from everyone so far, we have only been a dealer for two months and here is the facts. A $500,000 base parts stock does not come over night, we are willing able to order in all parts that our new customers needs, and yes for the first while we will need to order most of those parts in, but as most dealers can relate thats how you discover what the fast moving parts are in your area.

When it come to the fellow coming in to purchase the new 153 sno pro, I had my new sales guy in working the floor for me while I was taking a replacement sled to on of my new customers who broke down, I apologize for his bad experience, but to clear the air there is nothing close to $2500 in a new snowmobile, but if he got a good deal I can understand buying somewhere else. I do not like losing new customers through the door, but so you all know we are trying our hardest to start off right buy getting all the right people in all the right places.

We are willing to go the extra mile for our customers, I'm a snowmobilier who love this sport, and loves this new oppourtunity to join the dealer network in Edmonton and area.

I appreciate everyones patience, understanding, and support while we are getting going. If anyone needs anything please feel free to stop by the new store, ask for Chris if you feel your having issues, or feel free to call me on my direct line 780-203-6522

Thanks for that. Starting a new business is hard, to say the least, especially with the economy the way it's been the last year. Hang in there, we need as many choices as possible. If I buy a new sled (thinking but not sure) I'm seriously looking at the 2010 M8 (have 700 Dragon now, like it a lot). I do know that price is very important in purchasing a new sled, as this sport costs a lot of money.

Where is your shop located in Sherwood Park (addresses there don't mean much, all names and no street numbers) as I am there a lot and would like to stop in some time and check it out. Do you do service work? On Cats only, or do you work on Polaris?
