Airdrie & Oman, in Middle East
we been having a good season in golden as weekend warriors ...

I coulda started a few different new trails this weekend. but cash is king !!!

none of the ratbaggers are around anyway so wotev, we'll still be brappin happily in may ...

maybe sundy I'll have a crack at a area that needs the melt freeze cycle.

melt to get it all to slide to travel over washout/slide paths, freeze for traction and safety.

anyone on a good sled with excelent sled skills want to go on a mission ???

I doubt sleds will be stuck, but it will be just as much hard work ...

Damn, wish I was around for an adventure :)
Maybe in another 10 days or so ???

Went for a rip up Boulder today, hard snow but bluebird sky's! We went to the airport and I tried out one of the chutes and hit some ice 20ft from the top,
Bailed off the sled, the sled rolled end for end down the hill,, I just about got nailed by the sled cause I was sliding down the hill faster than the sled, then to
add insult to injury some dude showed up and climbed it...lol Broke the tail light of the sled other than that its fine,(thanks Jess for walking up the hill to get it! lol)
Scrapped my Arm but im fine too. Turned out ok, the only thing that is hurt is my pride...lol

Thanks, it was a pretty violent roll down the mountain and I was almost in it!

It was so icy I couldn't slow myself down, I was scratching at the hill trying to stay above the sled.

Not to mention I'm glad the sled was ok too.

I won't be trying any more chutes till it snows....lol

Went up Frisby solo today and I was happy to find it had a bit of fresh up there and if it keeps snowing like it is now, tomorrow and
the rest of the week could be pretty good.:)

Dropped this drainage today that I'll done lots before, I dropped to the bottom(about 8km's) and found a 100ft deep crevase that was unpassable.
This time of year its usually covered in with snow, so I had to go back up and it got hairball...lol

This morning I went to go check out a piece of land that is for sale a lil bit outside of Revelstoke.

Sure would be nice to have this as my 'Back Yard'......

Hi Lilduke, just wondering, i followed your blog for a while, noticed that you go up the hill solo quite often to meet up with other folks or just checking out the conditions.

don't you ever worry about getting stupid bad stuck by yourself?

thanks

No not really worried about getting stuck. When I get back really far into the hills solo my biggest concern is my sled breaking down.

Thats why I like riding New reliable sleds. I could use a Sat phone also.

ya .... when you are by yourself the anxiety index is a little higher when you are yanking on the pull cord hoping the engine will rumble to life....

worth it having a new sled.

you only need to use a SAT phone once and it will pay for it self

a good friend told me this (and has me thinking time I had my own , kind a thing)

Yep agreed. A Sat phone in an awesome piece of back Country safety equiptment.
