What are you guys cleaning your clutches with? Soap and water or brake clean?

all the above. simple green works pretty good

Take belt off and clean clutches with Scotchbrite first, then finish with Brakekleen on a rag. I clean my primary very carefully while the engine is running.

scuff them up with a scotchbrite pad and wipe clean with brake clean. Once a year I will take the springs and weights out and put everything in the parts washer at work. makes them look better then new.

I use the doo XPS S1 clutch and pulley cleaner. Not supposed to leave any residue behind.

I haven't tried that before. In the parts washer are you using varsol?

I use scotch brite to scuff
Brake clean to initial clean
Then electrical contact cleaner for final clean, until they pass the
“White glove test”.
Brake clean is probably good enough, but it does leave a residue, so I go the extra step.

If there bad bring them to me and I will clean and glass bead for you and they will come out like new we do a lot.
