:(I bought this sled from a guy who left it outside for 3 yrs. I drianed the gas pulled the carbs cleaned them ,replaced all clear hoses. and it still runs on one cylinder. The spark is good both sides a new dpm box was installed before I bought it. I am beginning to believe the H.A.C might have an issue It runs so rich that the ground is black with in 2 minutes of running it. The only time it will run on 2 cylinders is when I close the gas supply cock. Im at a loss any ideas out there? I am almost thinking of pulling the H.A.C. right off and putting on standard 44mm mikunis but what I have read is that these H.A.C.systems worked well on these years sled.

The sled should have DPM not HAC. If it failed (usually to full rich) I would expect it to stll run ok out where you are, certainly not as rich as you say it is. I'd look more along the lines of float height or leaking needle and seat.

I replaced the needle and seats already. the dpm was supposed to be replaced just before he parked it. It is running very rich the plus foul wet within 2 pulls

dpm was just replaced? for what reason? where allthe hoses hooked up properly and no leaks in them either? kinda sounds like maybe pressuring fuel bowls instead of vacumn?

The dpm was replaced cause apparently it would run good up to 1/2 throttle and then die. When her replaced it it ran like it should. All the hoses where put back in there proper spot but I have one that is hanging can't see where it supposed to go. It looks like a larger inlet to the block assembly facing toward the oil bucket. The air box has no provisions for it so I figured it might be for measureing barometric pressure. I tryed to find a schematic for it but I have only found one for a H.A.C System so far. I thought of over pressure as well but there is noting to pressurize it that I can see. Might have to go with 44mm carbs and take out the dpm but that might be a pile of changin over as well I suspect.

yes there is one aprox 1/4" line that hangs down on the mag side that measures atmospheric press. just kinda hangs beside the carb. could possibly be a stuck solenoid in the controler deal mounted to your air box. you can get the proper testing procedures for the solenoid in your manual if you have one. if not let me know and i will see what i can find for you.

I had one of those once and the air pump under the motor took a crapper. I unplugged the line from the nipple on the block and just capped it. It ran fine so I changed the pump and all was good.

Ski doo used the air pump in 98 only that is why there is no choke just a primer. In 99 they took the enrichment part of the dpm away and used choke for warm ups...so unplug the enrichment solonoid and see if there is any difference just some thoughts good luck

Also be careful not to park sled with nose pointing down hill...you will fill engine with fuel...also with the sled sitting for so long have you checked for critters in the exhaust?? and does crankcase have fuel still puddled in it??? and you have not mentioned compression yet..is it even??? low compression?? more thoughts only cheers:beer:
