Took the sled out today for a ride with the kids, and everything was good for 15 mins. Crossed an approch and the sled started bogging and the oil light came on as well as the brake light(on dash). My son shut it down right away. I towed it home, changed the plugs(left the new ones on the counter..forgot them), but now I wont start at all. At least before, it ran but bogging badly. Need to get it running again as I promised some riding for new years eve.

Any ideas? Thanks :(

When I changed the plugs to the new ones. One old one was wet and a bit oily, and the other was dry, like it wasnt getting any oil. Im not a mech. but I dont wanna screw up the motor, that happened to one of my other sleds lasy year and I was P'off big time.

OK...it does sound like a carb problem. Do you know anyone that can take them apart for you, (clean, inspect, adjust) I would personally start there first.

Cheers

I will proboly just take it in the a dealer cause I wouldnt mind it gone over. Bought it this fall and it was rode in the mountains, so I want to make sure its set up fro banging ditches around my area, and not wreck anything.

Check spark first, then check carbs. If its not running at all then I usually check spark first. Usually if its a fuel problem, at least one side will run. Also check oiler lines from the oil pump to the boots on the carb boots on the motor side of the carbs, make sure both have oil. Check oil line from tank to oiler. You can pull the Y pipe and look into the cylinders from the exhaust side and see whats in there as well. Was it running lean? Maybe one carb is not fueling? Check vacuum line to fuel pump from crankcase as well.

My bro had a 99x that sat for a long time and when he ran it, it did the same thing. There was a bunch of gummy crap on the bottom of the tank and it would plug off the fuel line. He drained the gas and cleaned tied a rag on a survey stake and wiped it all out. Never had that problem again.
