98 Powder special recoil starter

Anyone got a recoil starter they want to sell for a 1998 powder special 600 efi or know where I can get one?

Took mine out today ditch banging and broke the casing on the recoil starter

Luckily I was only 2 miles from home and managed to get it started again with the aid of the boy and a snow shovel

So I need to get a new casing or the old one welded up I I still have all the bit

On a related note how would you start one without a recoil say if your rope broke?

Same thing happened to mine this weekend. There should be a nylon strap in the tool compartment with a T handle. If not, get a nylon strap. Wrap it around the outside of the clutch onto itself fairly tightly. with the key on, pull the strap so that it spins the clutch. This should start your machine. Make sure that the strp is wrapped so that when you spin it off the clutch is turning counter clockwise.

Thanks I managed to fix mine the casing was broke at one of the bolt holes so I made up a reinforcing ring seems to work good now
