98 powder special cutting out?

My powder special keeps dying on me It seems to run OK for a bit then starts to backfire now and then then just dies. It won't start again until you let it sit for 5-10 mins then will start again I didn't use it at all last year,drained as much fuel as I could and put fresh fuel in before the first start this year.

Any ideas of where to start looking?

likely the stator, if not that check the little shims in the throttle pin,

I have a couple wiring harnesses and a coil if you need one for trouble shooting.
