97 to 99 rear suspension mod

I remember back in the day someone moved the front arm on the rear suspension on my 98 msrx while still keeping the 136. Can anyone remember how far back to move it? Were there any other mods that had to be done to accommodate this and what the benefits are of doing it. Thanks to anyone whose memory is better then mine.

I know this is old. But to answer the question. It was for the 141 geometry of the mountain max. It is quite involved and imho not worth it. Swapping in a cat, doo or poo skid is though.
