Hello and thanks in advance but I'm having a problem with my srv 540 last winter we were riding and decided to quit for the night parked them came out the next morning to try and start it no go, no spark nothing so I checked the coil but it has no power to it so then I went to the stator the red and white wire has a little power to it (test light barley glows) but I checked the brown wire an nothing I checked the ohms and all it said was 1 so my question is 1 if the brown wire has no power will it have spark 2 how much power should come out of the white / red

If you check with your local yamaha dealer he should be able to give you the resistance values for the wires coming out of the stator. Good luck

Disconnect the wiring harness from the magneto. You should see in the neighborhood of 550 ohms from the black (ground) lead to the brown lead. Did you have your range set to read this high of resistance on your meter? Also the resistance of the red/white to ground should be about 15 ohms. These are just ballpark readings. As mentioned though check with the dealer for more accurate specs. If the brown is open as you indicated then you won't have any spark.
