Well I skipped the 17 and 18 and was hoping it would be all sorted for 2019. I am beginning to regret selling my 2016 already and I haven’t even received my 2019 yet.

Humm using the same secondary clutch setup since 2011.
I wonder How many people kept the 43/47 in their sleds back in the day when those sleds had smoking hot clutches.

That is incorrect info. If the sled doesn't go better with low gears, you haven't went far enuff with the gear change.
This is for mountain sledding only tho. If sledding on trails or flatland that's a different story. Actually, flatland low gears will smoke higher gears if done right but that's another subject.
Unfortunately, it's either a mountain sled or a trail sled gearing wise. You can't have both.

My group was all 2018 cats. They ran down my 850 on all long hills. I was trenching and they had ski tips up ripping. I tried gearing up my 850 but couldn’t get the belt to last a Day. Did some heavy pto shims and back to stock gears then belts went to about 400km. Until spring came. Heavy snow and warm temps got the belts blowing daily if I rode hard.
I really hope doo has it fixed. I like my doos when they worked. My 16 freeride was the best sled I ever had. 1000’s of km per belt.

That's great info. You must ride hard cuz my friends 850 used to get 400km to a belt and rides with 86lbs of gear. He went 19/51 and he goes 800+km now. Try that and it should reduce heat, reduce the trenching and increase traction. Cats may be tough to beat as they have 8 tooth drivers for more efficiency and 850Doo clutches are hot and constantly slipping but you can get closer. Go 19/53 and you could beat them. Just don't go over 102kmh with 19/53.

You can't keep a motor mounted on a tripod straight no matter whether you do the above or anything else. You need a 4th mount...
100%
I don't think you will see this solved without the extra mount.

Next year you might silently see them add a fourth mount.

Or maybe they will wait for the G5?

Complete stock the engine moves around way too much, its ridiculous. Put the updated mag mount, shimmed pto rear tight, and shimmed pto front with red poly stopper,2x metal GNR shims,and one white SHR shim and put the doo plastic cap over the mount, this brought my C to C at 80% load(gnr tool)to spec. When stock and 80% my C to C was out 5mm!!!!!. Now the engine is fairly solid, with a pry bar it still has a bit of movement, but a fraction of what it was before. Be out testing soon to see results. BRP should be ashamed, especially when Cat and Poo are not having issues, how long can BRP keep their head in the sand with BS excuses and fixes that the consumer is paying for. Plus in my neck of the woods the BRP sleds cost the most

Until the G5 comes out.
There will be enough of the odd problem sleds to justify making parts for the unlucky few.
Its just a profit thing - not a consumer satisfaction thing.

Check the revision on your latest combine with 2 less mounts lol

The Perkins was bolted down with 4 mount in the Massey.
About 8 different belts on that sucker and well over 1000 hours before belt change required. Never did change the variable speed clutch or drive belt in 2700 hrs......... how did you know my Massey had variable speed clutch with belt drive.

Doo can't get that out of isoflex nevermind a belt.
Even my JD lawnmower belts last longer on the farm.......no trash talkin farm equipment eh.

Pick on something like a bicycle to compare durability.
Hmmmm.......nope, doo chain stretches more.
All joking aside pretty sure the blown belt is an isolated case with the changes doo made for the 19s.
