I agree with modman on the reliability but stick to my guns on triples. I compare the triples to a 440 six pack compared to a 426 hemi. both great but the hemi would beat the 440 cause of tuning issues every time on the street. the more carbs the more problems. The big twin is still the best bet. Just need some reverse enginering.Take the failures and make a great engine. Lets think..... Poo has a great power curve that sqeuuks in the mid............BRP fall flat in the mid............... maybe we have a connection? BRP goes rich in the mid to hold it together? Looks to be an air flow problem in the mid to me!!??

I think you are a victim of marketing.

I run the triples and don't seem to have the problems you seem to think are an issue. I haven't changed a jet in years. As Modman said the cost to manufacture is the big reason triple two strokes gave way to the twins. One extra pipe, one extra carb, one extra casting etc.

yeah, don't get me wrong, I'm agreeing with you on the carb thing, more cylinders = more complexity. That's why I'd love to see a triple EFI, not the old Polaris 650 style either.... :D good EFI! I think you could have a 250 HP reliable sled with a box tweak and/or re-map on a 1000cc triple. But it would still be heavier and cost more to produce than the twin, so very unlikely.

Well it took me this long to dig into my engine. It turns out that my exhaust valve was broken in 4 places and a piece of that must have hit my spark plug. And to make it worse the other cylinder has got a big fat crack in it. So i guess its time to remove and replace the whole damn thing.
