They are handy. That's why all our work trucks are long boxes. Daily driver I want a short box personally. But yeah to each there own.I do agree though they are handy. Just have to decide function or looks I guess.
I have a short deck with extension and I never took it off this spring. I have not walked into it (yet), close on a few occasions. My wife on the other hand walk right into it and cracked her head real good. Never thought i would hear her "f bomb" like that. Was kind o sexy, in a dirty way...
I have since taken it off so she doesn't kill me.
short box fits in my garage
Some guys have to have that 8' box to compensate for other things maybe hey Doug?

Enclosed trailers are really nice. Can be a bitch to turn around way up the mountain. But peak season its the only way to go.I thought that was the jacked-up diesel, white Oakleys, etc.........
But if you think so......
On another note, what are guys going to doo with the short boxes when all the machines magically turn to 174's in a few years............just thinking ahead a little
The other good thing about the 8ft deck on a short box is you can't dent your bumper from backing into power poles. I know this. LOL
Just kinda wondering if I can use my enclosed trailer with one. Trailer is a flat nose
