question about a cylinder shim......I took off the Crankshop 809 with a shaved head (blown middle cylinder) and put on a stock 779 top end......I have a cylinder shim that I'm wondering if I were to install, and shave the head down so I have a .065 squish what gains in HP do you get from changing the port timing? what mods can I do cheep by just tweeking here and there? timing? things that are done are Jaws pipes, pods, reeds with spacers, intake was cut and straightened (Crankshop bottom end), ported bottom end but Im sure that wont mean anything with the stock top end, I have the stock carbs but also have a set of bored out carbs that I could put on but did not think it would do anything with the stock top end......and like I said, trying to figure out what to do with the cylinder shim! I know the triple is old but I like the pull of it now.....Im still jetting to get it just right......any tips would be great......maybe next year I will get the cylinder welded and replated and put the race top end back on......but for now.....
