700 MudPro feedback?

Looking for a new quad for the summer, and possibly thinking of a 700 mud pro. And looking for some feedback from people who have tried them? Are they any good? Pro's and con's of them?

For a stocker it comes fairly well equipped out of the crate if your into the mud. Lots of clearance, something like 15" stock and a snorkel. I have never owned one but have some seat time on them as my dad has had a couple of them. From my experience cats dont ride as good as the other brands but they make up for it in mud performance due to awesome clearance and out of the crate readiness. A slip on exhaust really wakes up the bottom end and a clutch kit does wonders for putting the power to good use. Another nice thing is it will fit up to 32" silverbacks on it without modifying anything other than the clutching to help turn those beasts.

Pros: You get a quad that is built for the mud, snorkeled, ground clearance etc... including low gearing. It also has the Thundercat axles which are stronger then most other OEM axels out there. If you were to build a comparable bike from a stock 700 you would add much $$$ plus void warranty. Looks Killer

Conns: Doesn't handle like a normal stock 700 class bike (but who cares if you want a mudder). Speed is reduced via the gearing, but you get better low end tourque, Some guys say the noise out of the snorkle is too loud (pussies). You loose a bit of rack space on the front end. Hard on grass if you want to use it on your acreage LOL

Hey on thale farm grass is the last thing we are worried about lol. Thanks for the feedback. I mostly ride Mud, muskeg, mountains and rocks. Mostly mud though. And some trails. How does it do keeping up to other quads on trails?

Ya definitely no speed freak thats for sure, my 2011 ac 550efi spanks my dads mud pro for speed, even before he put the 32" silverbacks on it

Buy a Sportsman or a Can-Am and throw a snorkel kit and some tires at it. You will be alot happier!!
I rode a buddies Kodiak 450 with Mudlites for tires last May long and rode circles around the AC. Couldn't keep up with the Poo's or Can-Am's though in the mud. For some reason, the Cat seems under powered and still too heavy feeling for me.

Totally agree. I have not personally rode a mud pro but have been on quite a few rallys and seen them in action and I was not very impressed.

Get a can am xmr. My brother just got one and it's an unreal quad. There's just so many awesome features you cant go wrong with it, like the 3 level power steering, on board air compressor, air control suspension with 6 settings. You control all that with your gauges, no messing around. Today I rode it and got it up to 105km/h so it goes decent on the road, and to be honest it rides a lot better than my renegade with 27" reptiles. The suspension is way better then the renegade I find. And it will go through anything and it has awesome power. Last week I saw a mud pro and I thought it looked like a pos. tires sucked compared to the xmr, no rad relocate, and ugly looking IMO.

The XMR better be a better mud quad, it's about $5-6000 more than the mud pro.

Can am is a lot better quality than arctic cat, that's why it's more money. You pay more money for a better well built product.

And does the mud pro even come with a winch?

I know its not a 700 MudPro but I have a 2012 MudPro 1000, no complaints and the power steering works awesome. Wife used it to plow the drive way on our acreage this winter and
she loves it compared to my Can-am 650. So far I prefer the Mudpro over my other quads, no speed demon but does everything I want it to do....

Personally I wouldn't touch an artic cat. Keep in mind, you get what you pay for... Cheap out now and pay more in the end, or just do it right the first time?

i disagree when it come to can ams i have a freind with a cv tech,hmf,pc5 outty800 with 29.5 laws and my tcat is faster from start to finish and will out mud him anyday in the skeg and i have had 0 probs out of my cat.

An 800 up against a 1000? Not a realistic comparison. That's like comparing a 500 King Quad against a Grizzly 700!

And I would say your buddy can't ride or has some serious issues anyways if your out riding him everywhere and yours is faster at top end. He must never take it out of low range cause the gearing alone challenges this!!

Clutched and snorkeled but the rest stock except 29.5 Outlaws 800 Outty, up against an 850 SP on 29.5 Outlaws and a clutch kit only, and a MudPro 700 with a clutch kit and stock tires last year and we left the Cat behind after 3 lengths and it DID NOT do better in the mud. And we all switched it up once just because and ya the power steering worked just as good as it did on the other machines, but felt heavy and definetly didn't have the power of the two bigger machines!
Hell I'd put your lady's Gade 500 up against your 1000 as to which would perform better!

You'd lose. The 1000 Kitty is faster than a stock Outty 800....the Mudpro 1000, not so much.

I didn't say faster, I said out-perform! As in rootin through the swamp. Seen plenty a good rider on a smaller machine pass a big bore quad in the swamp and then turn around and go back to pull the big bore out! More of rider skills in that situation but still......
I don't doubt the 1000 cat might be a bit faster than the Gade-especially off the line with the lower gears!
